Roy Brown, funny man character actor, Equity Actor (Member of Actors Equtiy Association / AEA / A.E.A.), based in New York City, originally from Hastings, Michigan. Credits include Renfield in DRACULA (Regional & NY productions), Stewpot in SOUTH PACIFIC, Reuben in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, Lefou in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and da Jimmer in ESCANABA IN DA MOONLIGHT, a role that earned him quite a following in multiple regional productions at the Barn Theatre and at the award winning Kalamazoo Civic Theatre. Other favorite roles include Seymour in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, Amos in CHICAGO, and Sancho in MAN OF LA MANCHA.
Roy is also an expert guitar player, having made a living previously as lead guitar player for a 90s rock band. Roy juggles, he can eat fire, and produces hysterical character voices.
Recent successes include a turn as Renfield in Ted Minos's new rewrite of the chilling classic DRACULA for the Inwood Shakespeare Festival, the Theatreworks USA national tour FREEDOM TRAIN, the independent film DUMMER DAZE (aka DANNY AND THE LIONS) and a starring role in the award winning indie featre film directed by Scott Hopkins, DERREK'S DREAM.
Currently, Roy is studying acting with Scott Freeman and resides in Manhattan with his wife Emily.
